THOMAS CONWAY, M.S.
// Owner & Coach
Thomas considers himself a lifelong learner and teacher. His goal is to empower individuals to become the best versions of themselves using fitness as a tool of self discovery.
Thomas grew up being active and playing multiple sports. After college he got a corporate job where he learned that he was passionate about teaching, leading and coaching.
Additionally, he saw a need for educating others about health, wellness and performance. This lead Thomas to pursue a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.
After obtaining his Master’s Degree he moved to San Francisco and started his career as a fitness coach.
In 2018, he co-founded Project 13 Gyms and continues to pursue his passion each and everyday.
MICHAEL CALA
// Coach
Michael considers himself as a student and a creator. His goal is to have people enjoy life, using fitness as a tool to help those people get the most out of themselves.
Michael grew up playing various sports. He excelled at Baseball and walked on to San Francisco State University’s baseball as a second baseman with the goal of being awarded an athletic scholarship.
Through hard work and dedication to the craft, Michael was able to not only obtain a scholarship but become a starter and important part of the team.
Michael carries that work this with him to this day and believes in leading by example.
Michael is in the process of earning his Master’s degree from San Francisco State University in the field of Kinesiology and looks to apply what he’s learned to the individuals he works with.
JARED TAYLOR
// Coach
Jared was always active as a child. Growing up he had a passion for sports including, Soccer, Baseball and Running. That passion transferred to his high school days as a cross country runner and track athlete running the 1600m and 3200m races.
During his time as an athlete, weightlifting was introduced to him by his father in efforts to improve his sport performance. This is what sparked his interest to obtain a degree in Kinesiology at San Francisco State University. After graduating with a B.S. degree in Kinesiology: Exercise Science, in 2020, Jared became a personal trainer and group fitness coach. He advocated keeping an active lifestyle through various outlets, walking, strength training and any other hobbies that provide health benefits, enjoyment, longevity and life balance.
With his experience in personal training and group exercise classes, Jared has continued his journey to helping others live a healthy and active lifestyle. He is very excited to join P13 and the amazing community this gym has grown to be.
